BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP

A) SHOE SHOWS
The Shoe Show Committee of the O.S.T.A. organizes and operates 2 shoe shows per year.  The Spring/Summer show is held in August and the Fall/Winter show is held at the end of February.  The dual format of our shows will continue for the foreseeable future.  The Toronto Congress Centre has recently expanded its number of meeting rooms, adding 8 large rooms to the original 18.  There are approximately 300 open spaces available at this location.  The Radisson Suites Hotel provides 3 floors of bedroom exhibit space.  In order to participate as an exhibitor you must be a member of our association or a member of a S.T.A.C. affiliate. Specific information may be obtained by contacting our administrator Danielle Haikal.

B) LEGAL
As a member of OSTA, you have access to knowledgeable legal council with regard to any disputes between you and your principals.  We strongly recommend that whenever possible, a sales representative (commissioned or salaried) have some form of written contract with their employers.  Failing this the sales representative and the potential employer should exchange an "acknowledgement of representation" letter.  The legal committee and the association's lawyer have worked together to develop a "standard contract form" which is available to all members.  Should you need copies of any of these materials or require the name of our association's lawyer, please contact the Administrator, Danielle Haikal.

C) BENEVOLENT
At least one individual on the Board is responsible for receiving information regarding the illness or death of an Ontario member.  In the event of illness, the chair of the Benevolent Committee will arrange for cards, flowers or a fruit basket to be delivered to the member as a token of our concern.  The other sad responsibility of the benevolent committee occurs when a member passes away.  When this occurs, a financial tribute is paid to the remaining spouse or family member in order to assist with any immediate needs.  Our association depends upon its members to notify any of the OSTA Directors if they are aware of any traveler who is ill or who has passed away.  Please contact the Administrator, Danielle Haikal.

D) JOB PLACEMENT
In previous years S.T.A.C. has provided a confidential employment service to all its members across Canada.  Due to recent changes within the S.T.A.C. organization, O.S.T.A Board of Directors, have established a job opportunities and placement service linked to our web site.  Employment information may be obtained by accessing the Job Placement page.  Depending on specific requirements, information on job opportunities or available travellers may be accessed.  All information may be as confidential or open as the individuals or companies wish it to be.  For further detailes, contact our administrator Danielle Haikal or view the web site.
